This is a Tamiya 1/700 Scale Assembly and Painting Required Plastic Model Kit of the Zuikaku Aircraft Carrier ("Auspicious Crane"), a Shokaku-class aircraft carrier of the Imperial Japanese Navy in WWII. FEATURES: Kit has heavy waterline hull, multi-part superstructure island, 1-piece engraved flight deck, ship ships, filigree cranes and masts plus anti-aircraft batteries. Also includes aircraft: A6M2 Zero fighters (x5), D3A 99 type aldive bombers (x4) and B5N 97 type torpedo bombers (x4). The finished model measures approximately 14.2 inches in length. Paint guide for December 1941 outline and decals depicting flight deck markings, national aircraft insignia, and ensign. *Synopsis: The Zuikaku was one of six carriers that attacked the US naval base at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Accompanied by her sister ship the Shokaku ("Hoisting Crane") of Carrier Division Five, under the command of Rear Admiral Hara, the Zuikaku launched two waves of air strikes against US naval installations and battleships at Pearl Harbor.
